WHAT IS A BIG BORE FOR ? I believe the Beta is well-suited as standard for open Enduro and Cross-country work , but honestly no big bore is the ultimate machine for tight single track . That said , the Beta RR480 Racing must be considered a certain challenger for class honours . That is , if they still have an open four-stroke Enduro class . There is a growing following for pukka big Enduro machines for road-legal adventure work and trail riding – something like this is certainly the way forward for extreme exploring . The big Beta covers quite a few bases with only the 9 litre fuel tank an issue for longer trips into the boonies .
IS IT FOR YOU ? Overall , I would highly recommend the big Beta . It has the versatility of size to be much more than just a race bike . It is a truly pukka trail bike in every sense of the term , not to mention its Adventure possibilities . But one must not forget this is a hugely capable race bike first and it will deliver the goods if you are up to the task . Buy the bike , go to the gym , do the practice , and win the races – it ’ s that simple . Or , just blast the trails , have a beer and relax .
