just like back in the day. The carb was a mess and needed new everything, so a larger( read‘ faster’) 34mm carb was located. With the engine back in pristine condition after Brett Roberts Motorcycles built it into a‘ Quarter Midget’ spec engine( think oval racing in small cars), an XR250 swingarm and a CR125 shock were expertly grafted into the XR200 frame by Mark MacDonald and a
set of new fork internals were swapped in, set up perfectly by Linton Dean. The XR250R parts also include the twin leading-shoe front brake hub, replacing the bicycle-esque braking power of the original( in fact the disc brakes on my mountain bike are better still, but apparently they are not period correct).
