LAENGENFELDER GOES FULL FACTORY

Simon Laengenfelder is set to switch from the Italian-based De Carli team to Red Bull Factory Racing in Austria for 2026. He will be the sole rider for the team in FIM MX2 as Andrea Adamo steps into the MXGP cauldron. Laengenfelder won the 2025 MX2 title and with six seasons on KTM machinery already under his belt, is looking forward to being part of the Austrian team as he aims at the double next season. His title came with six GP wins and twelve podiums from twenty rounds in 2025. That consistency in the competitive class will be key to defending it and with the title, everyone wants to beat you, so the dynamic subtly changes, hence it is so rare to see a rider go back-to-back with world titles but with the Red Bull Factory Racing support and Joel Smets in your corner, he must surely head into 2026 as the favourite. Meanwhile the Red Bull Factory Racing De Carli team will be aiming at the same two titles with Belgian twins, Lucas and Sasha Coenen, making the battle within the Red Bull ranks that bit spicier.
