her, the timing team for organising bikes and
classes, Principal Mrs Harris and Deputy Principal
Mr Dreyer for making it out to the track to present
trophies and for supporting our team, the volunteer
marshals for helping with whatever they were
asked to do, the HPC MX team for getting out
there and helping with anything and everything,
and the sponsors who did their part in helping with
the goody bags and trophies. The day would not
have gone the way it did without these people
and we all look forward to seeing everyone come
out to the next Nailing The Peat 6 on October 19,
2018. There will be transponders next year, but at
HPC we like to Dare to Dream, if it doesn’t work
then we never give up, we just grow stronger.
The pink cake baked by Mrs Taylor was
won by Keegan Taylor of Wairoa and was
absolutely delicious. The pink bucket raised
$330 – HPC MX team matched it and
donated $660 to NZBCF of which we are
very proud to be able to ‘pay it forward’.
Thanks to David Watkin and Anna Schollum for
some outstanding photography – these are the
school memories we want. Dave Berridge “Fridge”
from Huntly MX Club once again came along to
do the start gate for us and provide the flags – he
always has a joke or three for the kids at the start.
