Yep, that’ s right, Suzuki just launched a new insurance scheme. Suzuki says it’ s a tailored insurance product only for riders of Suzuki motorcycles. The new Agreed Value policy includes 24 months‘ New for Old’ cover so if you purchase a new Suzuki, insure it with Suzuki Insurance and it is written off or stolen in the first two years of ownership, you’ ll get a brand new replacement. The cover includes some great additions, which include Roadside Assistance, Track Day Cover, Riding Apparel Cover, Completion of Journey Cover and rebates on your premium for attending Ride Forever training. Even better is that off-road riders haven’ t been forgotten either, with a very strong Fire Theft and Transit policy that includes cover for accidental damage occurring any time the engine isn’ t running, not just while the bike’ s in transit. In the event of a problem, repairs to your bike will be done by the Suzuki dealer network with Suzuki genuine parts to ensure they’ re done exactly how they should be. For full details of the benefits offered, head to your local Suzuki dealer or call them for a quote.
DUCATI 821 UPDATED FOR 25TH ANNIVERSARY
Our personal favourite of the Ducati Monster range is the 821. While it might not have the oomph of the bigger models, it’ s a beautifully balanced ride – check out our review of the 2016 bike when the editor rode it at Sepang circuit in Malaysia. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of its original Monster 900, Ducati has given the 821 a refresh. There’ s subtly different styling which apes the Monster 1200, new headlight and silencer, colour TFT display, Ducati’ s Safety Pack comprising Bosch ABS and traction control, and three power modes. The 90 ° v-twin motor( Ducati calls it an L-twin) puts out 81.3kW( 109hp) and 86Nm which is plenty enough to be exciting but not so much to be scary – we reckon it’ s the‘ Goldilocks’ power point. Colours are black, red and yellow( which is only available for the 821 Monster). Nice.
