THE TAYLA AND TED TEAM
OK, Tayla Relph might not be a Kiwi but the talented Australian rider is close enough. Tayla and her‘ crew chief-come-husband’ Ted Collins( yep, they tied the knot earlier this year) are, as they put it“ living the life in our van” for months on end. Ted took the ASBK 600 title in 2017, so knows what is needed in top level racing and provides that to his wife. Suffering from Crohn’ s disease, finding the balance is critical. Nervousness is a trigger, so preparation is key and the dynamic duo seem to have it down pat.
The pair knew each other from racing when they were younger but not well. If you ask who was quicker, apparently you might get two different answers... Collins brings a technical aspect that Relph needed, although he did say he may have created a monster now that Tayla is much more aware of the technical side and no longer rides around issues. The work, play, life in general balance seems to be working well for them as they take on the World WCR Championships. Good luck from across the ditch..
