13,500rpm, the lightweight 250 has earned its stripes in international competition and the development shows Triumph means business. In fact, the commitment to the dirt side has taken the industry by surprise more than a little. The development team they now have is impressive and, like the rest of the manufacturers, have shared engineering from their road effort as well. With Triumph supplying the entire Moto2 field with engines in MotoGP, the level the new bikes come out of the crate in shouldn’ t really be that much of a WOW moment, but it is.
ENDUROGP OF WALES
Josep Garcia was flawless in the Welsh round in Rhayader. We will leave the pronunciation from the country of unpronounceable names up to you. Even the commentators tried to steer away from any place names for the weekend and focused on the hot and dry( in Wales!) action as it unfolded. Okay, there was some overnight rain but conditions were pretty much as dry as you get in the land of dragons. Taking out his class and the overall on his KTM 250 EXC-F, he now has a 24 point buffer at the top of the EnduroGP class and an even
healthier 36 points over his nearest rival in the Enduro 1 category. Like many of the riders, they were running softer mousse in preparation for the expected damp conditions. Once he swapped them out for the very un-Welsh conditions and had firmer tyres, he managed to up the pace and show his roost to the field after a good battle with Zach Pichon( TM Moto), who is his closest rival in EnduroGP class. In the Enduro 1 class, Honda’ s Samuele Bernadini was competitive but couldn’ t quite match the flying Spaniard.
