BACKROAD TT Taking it out on the backroads, a tiki-tour up Highway 22 put it through its paces. I found the handling from the 41mm KYB forks was perfect for almost every condition. Sweeping corners, tight bends, all handled well. It’ s plush, responsive and took well to big bumps as well as the brief episode of rightwrist amnesia. Yahoo! I hardly used any fuel, regularly sipping below 5L per 100km, you could make a really good trip out of just one tank of fuel. Overall, this bike really surprised me with how well it handles. The suspension setup might be super basic, but it simply does everything right and well. Just as we’ ve come to expect from Suzuki.
THE SKINNY Tracking back to my comment at the start of this article, could this bike really help our N + 1 addiction syndrome? Probably not, because we all hold such a deep connection for everything on two wheels. But Suzuki has shown how well it could be done with the GSX-8TT. It would make the perfect bike for the Distinguished Gentlemen’ s Run, a daily rider for work, and a real toy for the weekend warriors. It ticks so many boxes for the average rider in 2026, and certainly made me reconsider my collection. Do I really need to pay for four lots of rego fees when there’ s one reliable and stylish option that will do the job of most of them? Food for thought.
