Rees and Daniel Mettam , who I have looked up to ever since I started road racing . A memory popped up on my phone that weekend of getting a Gixxer 150 Cup podium there only four years ago ... and now I was standing on the Superbike podium . Such a wonderful experience . I am extremely thankful for the opportunities I have been given in the short amount of time I ’ ve been racing . After the rough end to my campaign in British SuperBikes , this was the best I had felt on a bike in such a long time . Being at one with your motorcycle , just you and the track , absolutely on rails is a feeling like no other . Race three was hard fought and I eventually slipped back to another 5th place . Overall for the weekend I placed 3rd , which was my first overall podium finish in Superbikes . For the final round at Taupo I was consistent throughout the weekend . I went faster every session , but just didn ’ t quite have the pace to challenge for a podium - giving me 5th overall for the weekend .
IT ’ S A WRAP Wrapping up my first year on a Superbike I am proud of my efforts gaining 5th in the overall championship . I learnt so much from the guys at M1 Motorsport , which has elevated my riding in every way . Again , I can ’ t thank them enough for giving me this opportunity and trusting me with their beautiful bike . I ’ m really looking forward to next season with this year of learning under my belt .
