how fast a Superbike is capable of going !
CONFIDENCE My confidence was building every time I jumped on the bike . Little tweaks each and every time out to try and get me more comfortable . I now had a motorcycle underneath me that felt like mine . I was starting to wrap my head around the new Bridgestone tyres - trying to get the most out of them by maximising the strong points and minimising the weak points . The Bridgestones thrive under braking as they have a firm carcass and are extremely consistent over a full race distance with little performance drop off . Being the only rider on Bridgestones I would have stronger and weaker sectors throughout the track , so this meant I had to be very patient and let the laps come to me by not over pushing and making mistakes . Over the month ’ s break preceding the name a few . So , before heading down South for the next round we were able to go over the data from Manfeild and come up with a plan on where we should head with the suspension setup . I was blown away the first time looking through all the data the bike records ( for my first season I just stuck with the basics of the electronics to not overthink things , but as time goes on I will be using them in depth more and more ). As the rounds progressed we travelled down the South Island to Ruapuna Raceway and Teratonga Raceway . I managed three podiums from six races in the South . A 2nd place finish in my second ride at Ruapuna in wet conditions and two 3rds at Teratonga , a track I had never seen before . I loved the fast flowing nature of Teratonga ; accelerating from 50 km / h out of the final corner to looking down at the speedo and I ’ m doing 295km / h at the end of the front straight . That track puts into perspective
