Being a brand ambassador is usually a pretty cushy job . You get to ride the latest and greatest bikes , go to launches , eat out on a bike company ’ s dime . It ’ s a lot like being a journalist ... but without the writing . However , Husqvarna brand ambassador Marcel Hirscher is cut from a different cloth from your usual latte-sipping brand ambassador ... The recently appointed Husqvarna Motorcycles ambassador and former world champion slalom and giant slalom skier attempted to repeat his winning ways , this time on a Husqvarna TE 300i at the demanding Romaniacs Hard Enduro Rallye . Husqvarna as a brand knows the infamous terrain around the Romainian town of Sibiu well , with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team lead rider Graham Jarvis having won the event six times in total during his riding career . Jarvis also took top honours in the Romaniacs on the TE 300i in 2016 and 2017 . It ’ s for that winning pedigree that Hirscher chose the TE 300i for his attempt at the gruelling event , as surely his chances of reaching the finish line are improved knowing that he has the best equipment for the challenge . The TE 300i is Husqvarna ’ s flagship twostroke in the brand ’ s enduro range , offering gobfuls of power and performance in a light and agile package . A potent combination even in the hands of an amateur in twowheeled competition . By combining efficiency with performance , Husqvarna says the TE 300i of Hirscher will readily go the distance in the Romaniacs . Enduro tests both rider and machine to the limits of endurance and skill over diverse terrain – a perfect proving ground for Husqvarna Motorcycles with its offroad expertise and heritage . Marcel Hirscher and his TE 300i are set to take on a challenge to match anything he faced in his skiing days . Look for a full wrap of the action from Romaniacs in the next issue of Kiwi Rider .
