KIWI RIDER AUGUST 2020 VOL.2 | Page 100

+ BORN TO HOON; FUN AND PUNCHY; STOPS WELL - NOT MUCH... PERHAPS FUEL RANGE, AND A LITTLE CRAMPED FOR THE LONG- LEGGED RIDER The TFT dash is quite large, is a touch screen and also adjusted by buttons. It’s simple to operate and for the most part, easy to read – although some of the minor information is really quite small. But the home page has all the important information required in large type right there at a glance. I have to say, I really enjoyed the FTR Urban. It has truck loads of character with a huge rebellious streak that shines through. It’s fun, but it’s also quite versatile and very capable. With the rear carrier, luggage bags and reasonable weather protection, your options for more serious distances are improved. It certainly won’t be put off by poorly maintained back roads or gravel. Perhaps it’s only real drawback for touring is tank range, but that’s probably mostly down to the joyous engine that kinda encourages you to be a bit throttle happy. It’s a great bike. 100 KIWI RIDER
