Gerloff Style
KAWASAKI Garrett Gerloff has clearly made progress on the Kawasaki and he is looking more like the full-strength Gerloff of old, rather than the watered down one we’ ve seen in the last couple of seasons. 6th in Race One, his work in traffic whilst dicing with Vierge and Bassani in full-length Race Two was particularly good to watch but he’ s another rider who needs to convert these performances into points, something that was reinforced by him crashing out of Race Two on the last corner of the last lap when 7 or 8 points were almost in his grasp.
HONDA HRC Multiple world champion Jonathan Rea was back on the grid despite his retirement from full time competition at the end of 2025. Rea has since stepped into a testing and advisory role at Honda HRC but Jake Dixon’ s injury from PI needs time to fully recover so Rea took his place at Portimao and, will do so again at Assen with Dixon expected to return for Round Four at Balaton at the start of May. Rea’ s return wasn’ t as memorable as he or his fans would’ ve liked but his outing would’ ve given Honda valuable race data to work with so it
