MOTOR The engine weighs in at only 23.9kg and has a bore and stroke of 66.4 x 72mm , with a fivespeed gearbox , a wet clutch with Brembo hydraulic actuation , two engine maps and ( joy of joys !) electric start . The engines central main exhaust port and lateral ports each side are electronically controlled . Clearly the electronic power valve control , EFI and mapping settings all talk to each other – nicely - because this is a very sweet running , clean fuelling engine with a beautiful , strong , power delivery . Gone are the days of getting a new bike and spending the first few days rummaging around in your jet container , throwing them in the carb and trying to get it running crisply . The airbox incorporates tool-less access to a quality Twin Air filter . The TC250 ’ s power delivery is awesome , whichever of the two maps are selected . Each map is identified by a white or green light , with the adjustment switch block mounted up by the clutch perch . The white light indicates the standard map is selected , and I ’ d rate this as an excellent map for wet , slippery conditions – the kind you ’ d find in an enduro – and also for less experienced riders .
