joy of joys though, the G350 is fitted with excellent Pirelli Angel rubber front and rear, straight out of the box. That’ s a big plus for the handling department immediately. Ok, of course the bike is quirky, it’ s Italian! But, naturally, it’ s also very stylish; eyecatching in reality, and they haven’ t thrown the baby out with the bathwater- this is highly recognisable as a Lambretta with that squarer body shape, plus engine cover / seat config. It’ s a genuinely fashionable modern iteration of the marque. So far so good. And there are lots of positives. The seat is wide and comfortable, and the pillion is well catered for with fold-out pegs tucked inside as per usual. The finish is exemplary and the squared off stylings repeat with headlight nacelle and even the longish dash screen. Buttons, too, are in clean squarish lines, with great ergonomics, but the bars have fatter grips than I was expecting. Not sure I’ d feel as comfortable with thick winter gloves on.
