MCLELLAN TRIUMPHS

Triumph racer, Camden McLellan, now wears the red plate in the MX2 World Series. Not only a special day for the McLellan but for the Triumph Factory Racing Team, as it is their first overall victory since entering the fray. Backing up his round win was teammate Guillem Farres, who won the first battle but had a technical DNF in the second, losing precious points. In the overall points, McLellan sits on 47, Simon Langenfelder follows on 40 and Sasha Coenen is in third spot with 36. It is early days but the MX2 class has already shown that there are a bunch of riders and brands that will be fighting all season. Triumph Factory Racing have announced that they are most definitely contenders. Vialle Wins in Switzerland Tom Vialle took his first overall win in the 450 class with a win in the first moto and a gutsy comeback to sixth in the second. A bad start in race 2 saw him pause to untangle his boot from between his chain and sprocket, relegating him to the back of the pack. While catching the leaders was a bridge too far, the Petronas Honda Factory Racing pilot stormed his way through to a fighting sixth, securing enough points to take the overall victory and also close the gap to that red plate to two points, ahead of his teammate, Jeffrey Herlings. The circuit was drenched by a deluge overnight before racing and it was saturated, adding the task of a constantly changing beast to navigate. It turned into a battle of attrition as several contenders across the classes were reduced to bystanders in the tough conditions. Although it is the expected suspects at the pointy end, it is so close that there are no favourites emerging in the early season, which is just how us armchair experts like our racing.
