Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Racing rider Can Öncü topped qualifying, started on pole and rode a flag-to-flag race victory in the latest round of WorldSSP, leading a Yamaha R9 one-two in Race one. Also putting in the fastest lap of the race means he will start on pole again, putting the frustrations of his crash a round earlier to rest. Meanwhile, in the series, second placed Stefano Manzi still holds the lead by a slender nine points, so Yamaha Motor are understandably enthused with their latest foray into the Supersport arena. For BluCru fans here in NZ, hopefully there will be a bunch of R9 machines lining up next season.
