ROAD NEWS

CFMOTO TRIPLE TREAT

CFMOTO’ s brand spanking new 675cc triples are due here in NZ in May. That is the CFMOTO 675NK and the fully-faired 675SR-R, so upright and naked or aero and sporty, the options will be in stores from some time in May. Judging on their popularity in the Northern Hemisphere, where they are already rolling off showroom floors, getting in early to secure one from the first shipment is recommended. Both the‘ dressed’ and‘ naked’ options run CFMOTO’ s first iteration of the 675cc in-line triple that puts out 70kW( 94hp in old money) at 11,000rpm and delivers 70Nm of torque to make for a pair of lively middleweights. The high-strength chrome-moly frames are matched up with fully adjustable KYB suspension at both ends and J. Juan fourpiston radial front calipers and a single-piston rear caliper. The ABS is taken care of by a Bosch dualchannel system that also regulates the traction

control. Smart and stylish, the CFMOTO 675R- R will sell here for $ 12,990 + ORC and the nifty naked CFMOTO 675NK will be in your shed for $ 12,190 + ORC. Both triples use the six-speed transmission that comes standard with slipper clutch and quickshifter for clutchless up-shifting and, with a simple screw adjustment, can be switched to track( or reverse) pattern, for those that like the one-up, five down vibe. With T-Box 4G connectivity and 6D sensor technology, these new triples have an extensive electronic suite straight out of the box, all run via a 5-inch curved TFT screen that also has maps navigation via MotoPlay, so stylish as well as functional and bang up to date. The cunning plan is to have demo bikes to test very soon to get the full run-down, so look forward to that in an upcoming issue soon.
