EVERTS TO HUSQVARNA

Although only 20 , Liam Everts has already proven himself to be a serious contender in MX2 in his own right . The son of ten-time World Champion Stefan Everts and grandson of four-time World Champion Harry Everts , Liam ’ s pedigree is second to none , but he knows that when the gate drops , it is up to him to forge the next chapter in that illustrious racing dynasty . Liam made his MX2 debut in 2021 , as a freshfaced 17 year-old . The following year he was in the top ten by season ’ s end . Last season he was challenging for the title before a crash in the penultimate round ended that dream – for the moment . Taking Grand Prix victories in Germany , the Netherlands and Turkey , Liam has stepped out of the shadow of his legendary father and grandfather and has a new team for the new season .

Teaming up with reigning World Champion , Kay de Wolf , the Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing Team is looking formidable in white . Everts , who is still in recovery mode after the crash said , “ I ’ m super happy to join Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing - they ’ re a great group of people , and it ’ s an exciting new challenge . I ’ ve spent a lot of time with them in the past , so I feel really good about this move . My motivation to take on a fresh challenge is really high ; I definitely needed a change . We both want to win - that ’ s the ultimate goal . We want to become world champions . We ’ ll see how everything goes with me coming back from injury , but we ’ ll take it step by step and see what the speed is like once I ’ m back on the bike . This opportunity also felt like the perfect time to change my race number – new team , new colours , new number ! After the accident , a lot changed , and now it felt like the right time to start something of my own . My family has been super supportive . It feels like an exciting , fresh chapter in my career !”
