Reaching the peak of the road on the range gave vast views across to Alexandra and beyond. Yes, it was autumn and blowing an absolute gale, which meant I had to hold my bike to stop it being blown off its stand, but the views and riding more than made up for it. There was even a fresh dusting of snow to play in before heading back down the Nevis slopes for a slap- up lunch at The Kitchen in Bannockburn. ROAD SPORT I have to admit, it did seem like I’d pulled the short-straw after lunch. Getting off the generous dimensions of the Super Tenere and onto a YZF-R6 was something of a shock to the joints and muscles.
