but being pretty well thought out from a seat-to- peg-to-bars perspective. The bars are nice and wide and provide great control. The seat was very comfortable on my weekend jaunt and standing on the pegs over a 20km gravel section was easy, but 30mm bar risers would have made it perfect. In fact, it was the gravel riding that surprised me most. The GS is very well balanced and the suspension, whilst not top drawer and fairly soft, is easily up to the task of smoothing out rutted gravel road corners and allowing you to maintain good pace. At only 313cc you have to use the gears a bit to keep it ‘on song’, but that adds to the fun of arriving at a corner, then winding on some power for a spirited squirt to the next one over whatever corrugations might transpire, and all without the wild gravel spraying you could expect on a larger capacity adventure beast. What this means is the G310GS is a great little package for a learner adventurer. It provides a comfortable riding position, good dynamics, a 19-inch/17-inch front/rear wheel set-up and is very frugal on fuel, even when ridden hard on open roads. Nice work.
