And great ergos mean the rider isn’ t fighting bulky / awkward bodywork, bad steering or even a poor seat shape that forces the rider into a compromised riding position. And we all know where a poor riding position leads – to rapid and premature fatigue on race day. The brakes do the job, no more, no less. However, that still makes them absolutely fine for the majority of riders with only heavy brakers and elite riders requiring an upgrade to a larger front disc. Overall I think there is a lot to like about the 2018 250. It has a versatile power delivery that is a doddle for most riders to use with ease, but that strong, low-end torque aids the young up-andcomers or vet’ s most – riders who want effective, flexible power that delivers without the need to be continually dipping / popping the clutch or being intensely peaky. The turning is excellent, the ergos great, and the suspension puts in a very solid performance – it basically does nothing wrong. As I said at the start, you only have to look at Brad Groombridge’ s performances to see what it can do in the right hands; easy to ride makes for fast lap times. And lastly, the clincher for many will be that the price is very right at $ 10,995.
