few months ago , I mentioned that I ’ d be putting the latest-generation Suzuki cult bike through its paces in all manner of riding . Now , after nearly exhausting every test I could think of , it ’ s time for a more detailed breakdown of my experience . From joy-riding up the Rimutakas to overnight trips , this bike has seen it all . And , for the most part , it ’ s done everything I asked of it well . But , like anything , it has its strengths and weaknesses . When it comes to spirited joy-riding up the winding , scenic roads of the Rimutakas , the Suzuki excels ; handling the sharp twists and turns with confidence , and there ’ s nothing quite
like the feeling of leaning into those curves , the induction roaring as you climb higher into the mountains . It ’ s the kind of ride that reminds you why you fell in love with motorcycles in the first place . However , when it comes to overnight trips , the Suzuki GSX-8S isn ’ t quite as strong . Don ’ t get me wrong , it ’ s definitely doable . But , it ’ s more suited to the hard-core rider who knows how to pack light and doesn ’ t mind sacrificing a bit of comfort for the sake of the ride .
