road . In general , the Hayabusa suspension behaves extremely well , even on our poor B roads , delivering a surprisingly compliant , controlled and secure ride . At high speed , particularly on rougher surfaces , I could have dialled in a few more clicks of rear rebound , just to settle the rear . But , the general comfort in other conditions stopped me from doing so . At a track day I would make it firmer , but then I ’ m 100kg too .
THIRD TIME ’ S A CHARM Suzuki ’ s third generation Hayabusa is a phenomenal piece of engineering . Ultrafast in all respects , but blessed with a totally civilised and dignified demeanour that somehow manages to mask a great deal of its outrageous speed potential . It ’ s the best of several worlds . From the conservative ‘ butter wouldn ’ t melt in one ’ s mouth ’ type , through happy days and fun times , to absolute wayward hooligan and beyond when you switch the electronics off and all hell breaks loose . The best part of all this is that the new Hayabusa has the braking , tyres , chassis and electronic technology to keep it all in hand . Just what ’ s needed in our not so perfect world .
