HUSQVARNA’S 2020 401 MODELS ARRIVE
H
usqvarna Motorcycle’s entry-level road
machines for the 2020 model year have
finally started arriving in dealerships this
month, with the 2020 Vitpilen and Svartpilen
receiving minor tweaks to discern them from
their outgoing counterparts.
The biggest change comes to the chassis,
with the subframe being extended to allow
for more space for a pillion. Yep, it’s a strange
change for a bike smack bang in the middle of
the LAMS market but it also helps clean up the
lines of the bikes, which ended abruptly in the
original Svartpilen and Vitpilen 401s.
Husqvarna has also dropped the controversial
hugger rear mudguard in favour of a
conventional number plate hanger.
The 44hp single-cylinder engine remains the
same as does the rest of the chassis including
the WP suspension, but Husqvarna has tweaked
the colour designs with the new subtle silver
and bronze accents highlighting the uniquely
Swedish Vitpilen and Svartpilen designs.
