BMW ’ S MID-CAPACITY GS ’ EVOLVE
Since the release of the F900XR , a question on the lips of many was whether BMW would update the mid-capacity GS range to the larger 895cc parallel-twin engine . Now for 2024 , we ’ ve got confirmation of not only that but also a heavy revision for the trio of F-series GS motorcycles . While on the surface the base model F800GS looks the same bike as last year , it ’ s received big tech updates to bring it up to date with the class , and despite its name , it ’ s rocking the same 895cc parallel twin as the new F900GS and
F900GS Adventure . That increase in engine capacity has seen power jump 10hp to 105hp for the F900GS models , while the F800GS puts down a healthy 87hp with its lower state of tune . All three new models offer an adjustable gearshift lever as standard which is adjustable in height and length in two positions , while the F900GS also gets a foot brake lever that is 5mm higher , making it easier to use while standing .
