popular adventure tourer suits its intended purpose , that being a few hours in the saddle on our typical motorway roads along with some curve carving on country backroads . Previously known as the 950 S the 950 V2 S is the latest iteration of the model first released in 2017 , the V2 moniker differentiating it from its big brother V4 S . First impressions are the 950 is a tall bike , it ’ s distinctive frontal peak , screen and tank areas sitting high and wide , but likely offering good weather protection . The seat , however , sits lower in the bike between tank and rear seat and is friendly to the shorter-of-leg at 830mm . It ’ s relatively wide , so doesn ’ t feel overly low , but there ’ s an even lower seat option if desired . This bike is the Spoked Wheel or SW version , with a tubeless 19 / 17-inch wheel set-up . There ’ s a raft of technology on the bike including quick-shifter , heated grips , cruise control , semi-active Skyhook suspension and Brembo brakes . Apparently , this latest model has shed 5kg on the previous version and at 225kg wet . That ’ s not too bad when compared to other brands amongst the 900-1000cc offerings . This V2 S has a full range of Givi accessories , including taller screen , luggage system , crashbars and side-stand foot . It also has the latest electronic Scott-Oiler , so no need to worry about chain lubrication . I didn ’ t ride at night but the LED headlights certainly look distinctive and bright . Upon start-up it ’ s obvious the 937cc Testastretta
