Thankfully , the default settings are great and you don ’ t have to go full tester mode for each choice . It ’ s a good power plant that delivers nice useable grunt from the bottom with a linear power curve until around the two thirds revs mark where it steps up to an excellent top-end . In all honesty , I never fully explored the topend power as the roads were farking wet and I certainly didn ’ t want to risk damaging Rodney ’ s lovely-looking machine ! Although , of course I gave it a bit of a rev from time-to-time as is the tester ’ s duty . On gravel the power is smooth and easy to control even with the standard road tyres , so it should be fun blasting around with knobblies fitted ! There is a little more vibration from the engine that comes through the bike to the rider than I would expect from a premium machine . Nothing untoward , but it ’ s noticeable . I ’ ve never been that sold on Multistrada ergonomics . I ’ m tall , and while the deep-dish saddle is comfortable , it locks me in a position that is low and a bit far forward . It bends my knees too much and I can ’ t slide back on the seat and relax that bend . A flat seat is preferable particularly for tall riders from a dirt background . However , no doubt the seat style contributes to the lowish 830mm height and I ’ m sure comfy for all those of average height . Also , the seat is quite
