BMW MOTORRAD DAYS HEADS ‘ HOME ’

A fter 18 years , BMW is shifting the location of the largest gathering of BMW Motorrad fans with the BMW Motorrad Days festival heading to the company ’ s home in Berlin . The annual BMW Motorrad Days festival , traditionally held in Bavarian Alpine city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen , is on the move with BMW announcing this week that the company is shifting the world ’ s largest BMW Motorrad gathering to the very city the company manufactures its motorcycles – Berlin . The home of the BMW Motorrad plant for over 50 years , Berlin is considered to be one of the cultural hubs of Europe which BMW says will ultimately bring even more diversity to the BMW Motorrad Days compared to its Southern German-based predecessor . “ I am very pleased that the BMW Motorrad Days , one of the largest motorcycle events in Europe , will come to Berlin next year , says the city ’ s mayor Michael Müller . “ This is a highlight not only for motorcycle enthusiasts , but also for the citizens of Berlin and our guests from all over the world . The fact that BMW Motorrad wants to break new ground here in Berlin is an important sign – for

the city and the motorcycle industry alike . It is also a commitment to this industrial production site in Berlin , where BMW has been producing motorcycles for five decades now . At a time when issues relating to mobility and transport are playing an increasingly important role for the future of cities , Berlin can provide new and important impetus in hosting the event .” With the event on the move , BMW hasn ’ t forgotten the part played by the Garmisch- Partenkirchen community in the overall success of the event . “ With the BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch- Partenkirchen , we can look back on a real success story , on an event that attracted tens of thousands of visitors every year and on an excellent cooperation with the community of Garmisch-Partenkirchen ,” said the Head of BMW Motorrad , Dr . Markus Schramm . While due to the pandemic it will be some time before hardcore Kiwi BMW enthusiasts will be able to attend BMW Motorrad Days again , the new location will mean it will be easier to get to with Berlin a much more accessible location to international travellers than Garmisch-Partenkirchen .
