KTM BRINGS RC 8C INTO 2023

KTM ’ s bonkers track-only weapon , the RC 8c , is set to return for 2023 and once again will be offered in limited numbers only . Only 200 examples of KTM ’ s most ready-torace road bike are set to be built with customers ordering directly from the factory if they have the cool $ 68,900 ( plus dealer delivery charge ) to drop on KTM ’ s ultimate track toy . The 2023 model builds upon the already impressive specs of its predecessor with a sleek new look , more power and improved electronics .

Interestingly , despite weight savings with a new exhaust system from Akrapovič , the 2023 RC 8c tips the scales 2kg heavier than its predecessor with a 142kg dry weight claimed versus the 140kg dry of its predecessor . That ’ s due to the work KTM has done in the engine department which includes better cooling power for the feisty parallel-twin . For 2023 KTM have honed the LC8c engine even further with a number of changes including higher compression , titanium valves and conrods , assembled ( rather than forged ) camshafts and a bigger throttle body . Combined with a higher redline , new fuel pump and two piston rings on the piston ( to refine the engine ’ s oscillating mass according to KTM ) the 2023 RC 8c puts down a very healthy 135hp at 11,000rpm ( up 7hp over last year ) backed by 98Nm of peak torque . The chassis is crafted in partnership by the race nuts over at Krämer Motorcycles and features an adjustable steering head as part of the design of the cro-molybdenum steel frame .
