engine modes are a bit overdone now-a-days ... the throttle has always gone both ways and it ’ s up to the rider to decide , it ’ s the ultimate mode / power selector !. I do think just two modes would be more than enough . A full power mode , reduced power and traction control to suit each of them , along with the ability to turn the traction control off , and switchable ABS . That ’ s it . Job done .
SUSPENSION ADJUSTMENT THAT WORKS The chassis is a steel bridge shell design with a slow-ish 28-degree steering head angle . Our test bike had Metzeler Karoo 4 tyres fitted ( they ’ re
tubeless too ), so with a beach and sandy trails near where I live , they were exactly where I headed . The first thing I really noticed is that the rear suspension is soft , bottoming out regularly on mild , sandy whoops . The forks felt fine though . Fortunately , the rear suspension has hand adjustments for shock preload , compression and rebound damping . So , I had a fiddle to add preload , a decent amount of compression damping and a little more rebound . What a difference . Yes , I could still make it bottom out , but , realistically , I was pushing harder than in a normal adventuring situation as I rode the same
