BIMOTA BACK IN THE BRAWL

Alongside the discomfort in the racing world of Kawasaki not fielding a full factory machine in WSBK next year is the tantalising return of a name steeped in racing history . In a partnership with Kawasaki , Bimota is back on the grid of WSBK in 2025 and the first look and the first words from the riders Axel Bassani and Alex Lowes suggest something special is imminent . Lowes commented “ It was good to start this new challenge . We ’ re starting to explore the bike . We need to understand how the changes make the bike feel , what I need from the bike , maybe changing the riding style a little bit . Lots of things and work to do , but it was nice to get started ; I enjoyed riding the bike . The feeling was nice from the first laps this morning . It ’ s been a really good and fun first day on the bike .” Under team manager Guim Roda , the team have also unearthed more pace from the engine and are at the early stages of working out how to maximise the new split chassis , which uses both steel and aluminium sections in Bimota ’ s unique style . Kawasaki will supply engines with Bimota taking it from there , working with Kawasaki in a tandem effort to develop the engine while the chassis is an entirely Bimota deal . The stunning new machines , despite never having been on track before , have already posted laps faster than the Kawasaki ZX-10-based factory Kawasaki machines managed just a few months ago , much to the delight of all involved in the new concept team .
