HUSQVARNA & KTM RECALL LC4 POWERED MODELS
Husqvarna Motorcycles and sister-brand KTM have announced a recall for the brands 2018-2020 LC4 powered models regarding an issue with the clutch slave cylinder . The recall involves all KTM 690 models and Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 , Vitpilen 701 , 701 Enduro , 701 Supermoto from the 2018 model year through to 2020 models in which the bikes could have potential damage to the seal in the clutch slave cylinder . KTM says that damage to the seal caused by deviations in the assembly may impair the function of the clutch slave cylinder . All components of the version with a bellow gasket must therefore be replaced with the new version without a bellow gasket . It is a reasonably well-documented issue , with plenty of accounts on social media of bikes suffering from the clutch slave issue and having inoperable clutches as a result . Husqvarna notes in its press release that the issue may not be apparent on all motorcycles and as a safety precaution all owners of these models are required to return their machines to an authorised Husqvarna Motorcycles dealer who will inspect and , if needed , replace the clutch slave cylinder . Customers who have already acquired one of the above-mentioned motorcycles are being informed by a personal letter and are asked to immediately contact an authorised dealer to arrange an inspection appointment . In addition , customers can check online in the ‘ Service ’ area of the Husqvarna Motorcycles or KTM website to determine if their motorcycle is affected by this recall . The check and replacement of all parts involved will be carried out at no cost to the customer and must be performed by authorised dealers only .
