The turn out in Auckland
saw 400 riders registered
would swell the numbers to unmanageable size,
causing the event to be cancelled by the Police.
But it does not stop those who would like to
participate in some way from sponsoring a rider!
It was a hugely good-natured event, with some
extraordinary motorcycles and great costumes.
The level of ingenuity, and the quality of backyard
fettling is exceptional, but, of course, there are
breakdowns in some of the more temperamental
steeds. As always, Earnest Recovery were there in
fine order, and I think it may have been a Vespa
that won the prize for first breakdown. All-in-all
more than 93,000 motorcycle riders participated
globally, and here in NZ 1403 riders raised over
$143,000. Congratulations, and thanks to every
participant and sponsor. For further info, or if you
would like to donate or sponsor a rider, you still can
