REVIEW
eSystem uses an electronic pump , powered by the bike ’ s battery , rather than a vacuum hose from the carb / fuel injection body . First things first , we spent the majority of the install time deciding where to mount the LED and the dispenser . On the Africa Twin there ’ s a handy flat area to the left of the bike ’ s display that ’ s perfect for the LED control unit , and we settled on the subframe to the right hand side of the bike , behind the rider ’ s leg . Then we ran the oil pipe up and over the subframe , under the seat and down the left side of the swingarm to put the oil spout onto the sprocket . We had a look at Eurobike ’ s handy install video ( which we didn ’ t see until long after fitting this one ) and they fitted the dispenser in the same place . The Africa Twin install takes a little longer than most because of the battery location ; situated on its side , tucked away in a box . Rather than pull the tank and panels off the bike , we used a draw wire to pull the controller wires through the panelling and up to the bike ’ s dash / fairing area .
OPERATING It ’ s super-easy to operate . The controller tells you the level of oil , and you can adjust the flow rate while riding - Doug says he uses this when he ’ s been through a water crossing or it ’ s just looking really dry from dust on gravel roads ; he simply has to press the buttons to move the LED bars up to increase the oil flow and then back down again later in the ride . When you top the oil dispenser up , you press the right hand button which increases the indicator bars back to the full level . We think the controller figures out how much oil is left by knowing how much the dispenser holds and the level at which the pump is dosing . The display is pretty accurate too ; Doug reports
