KYMCO GOES ADVENTURE SCOOTERING
The oddball offshoot of the adventure bike segment seems to have a new contender , with Kymco Australia announcing the arrival of the DT X360 adventure crossover scooter . While Kymco distributor for Australia and New Zealand , Mojo Motorcycles , is yet to confirm whether the DT X360 will be heading our way , its arrival in Australia seems to give weight to the adventure offshoot that it hasn ’ t previously enjoyed . Based on Kymco ’ s Downtown 350i platform , the DT X360 gives the step-through far more potential for adventure thanks to dual-purpose tyres and a rejig of the Downtown chassis .
This includes a wider handlebar to assist in maximising leverage , and a higher seating position of 800mm to maximise rider visibility . Compared to the Downtown 350i , the DT X360 also has a shorter wheelbase and isn ’ t as high or long . While it sure won ’ t be tackling any seriously gnarly terrain , it is a well-sorted travel ready scoot that also doubles as a nifty commuter . Peak power from the 321cc single-cylinder is claimed at 28.4hp and is backed by 30Nm of torque , while Kymco claims a range of “ about 300km between fuel stops ” which is in part thanks to the choice of a traditional CVT transmission to get power to the ground . Other highlights include traction control ,
