The engine casings are similar but not the same . More angular and with a machined proud ( as in sticks out , not just R / E being happy ) logo match the ‘ Piano Black ’ finish applied liberally to levers , switchblocks , dash etc and goes pretty well with the matte metallic black frame that retains the trademark rear loop while getting a going-over from front to back . I ’ m not a diehard traditionalist , so I quite like the new direction and it will likely appeal to a new audience as well , so , yeah , a thumbs-up for the look , despite the caveat that I ’ m not the target market for the Shotgun . That aside , if I was a city-dweller , I would consider changing that . As an urban commuter , it has potential , for sure .
