BMW M1000RR CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF ‘ M ’

While BMW Motorrad has only recently started its official association with BMW ’ s M Motorsport division , the two-wheeled side of the BMW family is still more than happy to use M ’ s 50th anniversary as a reason to put out a very cool limited edition motorcycle . Enter the BMW M1000RR 50 Years M Anniversary Model ( say that 10x fast !). As the first bike from BMW to be given the M designation back in 2020 , there is no better Motorrad model to help celebrate the performance arm ’ s milestone year . Finished exclusively in BMW ’ s ( eye-searing ) Sao Paulo Yellow , the bike comes factory equipped with the M Competition Package and is blessed with much of the BMW M parts catalogue for the M / S 1000RR . That means it rolls off the line with an extensive M milled parts package and the exclusive M carbon package to ensure the bike looks up to the task of embodying the ‘ M ’ ethos . Looking the part can only get you so far , so BMW Motorrad has also thrown in both a lighter swingarm in silver anodised aluminium , the unlock code for the M GPS laptrigger as well as the M Endurance chain to help keep maintenance down . Since the BMW M cars still retain some degree of practicality , BMW Motorrad is ensuring the same for the M1000RR 50 Year model with the inclusion of a pillion package and a pillion seat cover as part of the standard equipment . At the time of writing we have yet to hear what pricing will likely be , but with the standard S1000RR sitting pretty at $ 35,590 , you can expect to pay a bit more for the limited run M 50 Year Anniversary Model which BMW has confirmed will only be available to order until November this year .
