W ell , the Yamaha Tenere Tour for 2021 is done and dusted for another year and what a ride it was ! The location for 2021 was dubbed “ Top of the South ”, with the event kicking off in Motueka and heading as far South as Hanmer Springs , before heading back North and into the Marlborough area and making its way way back into the Nelson region for three days of epic riding and scenery . All of the riders met in Moueka at Toad Hall on Wednesday evening to get signed in , have a meal and get briefed on everything that lay ahead over the three days of the Tenere Tour . It was exciting to see some faces from the inaugural ride , and great to also see fresh faces , riders who had recently purchased a Tenere 700 and were keen to be a part of this epic

journey with other like-minded riders . On the T7 tour we use GPS files and each rider is self-guided for the day , our GPS guru Miles “ MacGyver ” Gregory was on hand to make sure everyone was dialled in with their device , then it was time to hit the hay and recharge the batteries .
DAY ONE MOTUEKA TO HANMER SPRINGS We kicked off from Motueka bright and early , hitting the road and quickly making our way into some tight and twisty gravel roads on the way to Tapawera . From there it was a run towards Glenhope on a brilliant gravel road that was freshly graded heading along the Sherry River . The first breakout of the ride was Mt Murchison .
