HUSQVARNA RECALLS 701 ‘PILEN MODELS
I
n a rarity for the local motorcycle distributors,
Husqvarna has announced a public recall of its
Vitpilen 701 and Svartpilen 701 models due to
a possible fuel leak.
The recall, which affects all 701 Svartpilen and
Vitpilen 701 models produced since 2018 -
specifically the 2018, 2019 and 2020 Vitpilen 701,
along with the 2019 and 2020 Svartpilen 701 and
2019 Svartpilen 701 Style – will see new fuel tanks
fitted at an authorised Husqvarna dealer at no
cost to the owner.
From the official Husqvarna Australia and New
Zealand press release:
The brand orders all tanks to be replaced with
an improved component due to possible
unevenness in the area of the sealing surface
between the tank and fuel pump as well as tank
and fuel level sensor. The improved tanks have an
increased wall thickness to correct this deviation.
Customers who own one of the affected
motorcycles are being informed by a personal
letter and asked to immediately contact an
authorised Husqvarna Motorcycles dealer to
arrange an appointment for inspection and
replacement. All work by authorised Husqvarna
Motorcycles dealers will be carried out at no cost
to Vitpilen 701, Svartpilen 701 and Svartpilen 701
Style owners.
In addition, all Husqvarna owners can check
online in the ‘Service’ area of Husqvarna
Motorcycles’ website to determine if their
motorcycle is affected by this recall. Further
information on all authorised dealers can be
found on the ‘Dealer Section’ of Husqvarna
Motorcycles’ website.
