INSTALLATION My Ventura system arrived by overnight courier, and I got straight into the install process, removing the main and pillion seat and the rear fairings of my Yamaha MT07. As I said earlier, each Ventura rack is designed and manufactured in NZ and the rack for each bike is different, depending on where the mounting points are. The installation process for the MT07 requires removal of the tail fairings and some small notches to be cut into the plastic. I usually try to keep all modifications to my motorcycles 100% reversible, but in this case the notches cut in to the plastics are hidden under the tail, so not visible. Once the rear fairings were removed, it was a simple case of removing four bolts, holding the numberplate and indicator assembly on the bike, sliding the rear T-bar support for the rack underneath and tightening the four bolts back up. Now, at this point I would like to stress, if I had kept my bike as it came from the factory, this would have been easy... but because I installed an aftermarket tail tidy system a few months ago, the job was made more difficult. The T bar support wouldn’t fit due to the tail tidy and no amount of mental gymnastics on the rotation would get it to fit… well not without six months of night school to learn to weld, and trust me I did contemplate this option.
