TRIUMPH 1200 TIGER
The only new heavyweight adventure class machine expected to land on New Zealand shores this year comes by way of Triumph ’ s heavily updated Tiger 1200 . Heavy is one thing Triumph has worked hard to avoid with the new Tiger family , with the new 2022 Tiger 1200 range dropping significant weight compared to the outgoing models ( 25kg !), hitting 249kg fully fuelled for the Rally Pro , while also boosting power . The Tiger 1200 family , as Triumph tends to do , will be a range of five sub-models to cover all aspects of adventure riding from a
more road-focussed Tiger 1200 GT to the offroad focused Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer . The all-new engine makes use of the same T-plane crank design , which Triumph debuted with the Tiger 900 line , with peak power up 9hp over the previous generation with 149hp at 9000rpm and peak torque a healthy 130Nm at 7000rpm . Depending on the spec chosen , the new Tiger 1200 can come with a range of equipment from cast alloy wheels ( GT models ) to tubeless spoked wheels , crash protection and more .
