Italjet Dragster
Italjet ’ s Dragster was first released back in the 90s and I have always been a fan of the unique and sporty styling , and especially keen on the screaming 180cc , two-stroke engine in its bowels - especially when it was modded with a performance kit and raucous expansion chamber ! Sadly , those days are long gone and the new Dragster is sporting a Euro5 compliant four-stroke engine , and now called the Dragster 200 . The new scoot ’ s engine displacement is actually 181cc and the weight and power of the scoot are actually very similar to that of the original .
THE LOOKS First up is the styling . This scoot causes doubletakes from those who see it , due to its futuristic , industrial styling emphasised by its single-sided front swingarm set-up , Ducati-esque trellis frame , and faux Cyborg-styled joints . The red / white / black colour scheme is also very ‘ Italian race bike ’ and looks great . The MotoGP-styled hand guards cement the overall look and the integrated scrolling LED indicators are a nice touch .
SPORTS SCOOTER Don ’ t expect a cavernous under-seat storage area on the Dragster . This is a sports scoot after all and a suitably styled back or sling pack would be the best option for gear carrying duties . The seat is comfortable enough , but doesn ’ t offer a huge amount of movement for and aft for the rider . Those too much over 1.8m may struggle to fit comfortably and keep their legs behind the
