VESPA ANNOUNCES 10TH ANNIVERSARY 946
Vespa is celebrating the 946 model ’ s 10th anniversary with a special edition that links in with the Chinese Lunar Calendar . Vespa already has a limited edition 946 Christian Dior , but the company clearly felt that was too niche and wanted something widerreaching instead . Vespa also plans to release a new limited and numbered model as part of a collection of special edition models linked with the 12-year lunar calendar for the next 12 years . Now that ’ s a commitment to an idea ! The first bike of this special edition run is the Vespa 946 10th anniversary with the bike dedicated to this year ’ s zodiac animal , the rabbit . Vespa will only produce a limited and numbered series of 1000 examples . Since Vespa will be introducing a new annual edition each
year , inspired by the lunar zodiac animal of that year , that means next year ’ s bike will be a take on a dragon theme . According to Vespa , since its debut in 2013 , the Vespa 946 has established itself as the archetype of the Vespa of tomorrow . One which interprets the values that have made Vespa a global icon while injecting it with a contemporary spirit and a forward-facing attitude ; an Italian-made masterpiece , which has now become a real collector ’ s item , taking shape in a dedicated production line . This special version is issued in a reworking of the classic Vespa green , to symbolise the love of fun , light-heartedness , and nature typical of those born under this sign . The stylised silhouette of a rabbit peeps out on the body . All the details of the Vespa 946 10 ° Anniversario are made in a refined burnished finish with warm reflections , while the double-upholstered saddle is black with burnished stitching and is sewn by hand with needle and thread , as are the handgrips .
