THE SET UP With the forks and shock back together , and given the nod from Robert ’ s dyno testing , Hayden fits the front and rear units back into the bike . Robert gets out his trusty digital ‘ sagometer ’ to measure the bike ’ s unladed sag , and then I sit aboard in my riding gear to set the rider sag . As the bike was originally set up , there
wasn ’ t enough sag , so Robert decreases the fork and shock preload to get it just how he wants it . After the initial setup , Robert heads out for a quick test ride to make sure the forks and shock are performing how he ’ d expect based on the dyno data . He comes back after five minutes and seems happy with the result . He sends me off to have a test , but it ’ s getting dark , so I only go for a quick ride . I ’ m more than happy with the rear , it ’ s definitely less harsh on sharp
