KTM RECALLS 1290 SUPER DUKE R MODELS

KTM has announced a recall on all 2020- 2022 Super Duke R motorcycles to improve the main wiring harness . According to KTM ’ s recall announcement , the routing of the main wiring harness has since been improved since these models left the factory . In particular , in order to prevent chafing

( never fun ) which the wiring harness may become damaged over time . If this occurs , it may result in a vehicle fire . KTM techs need to retrofit a new frame cover and cable ties to the affected bikes . As always with a recall , the work to perform the retrofitting of new parts is free and to be performed by an authorised KTM dealer . If you happen to own a 2020-2022 1290 Super Duke R , you should have already received a letter from KTM New Zealand directing you to make an appointment with your local dealer . If you ’ re unsure , you can hit up the “ Service ” area on the KTM website to check if your bike is impacted by the recall .
