Setting my sights beyond simply being able to go off-road , I wanted to see some parts of the country I ’ d heard big things about and tackle some events to test those slowly forming off road skills . I knew if I wanted to call myself an adventure rider I had to tick off a few great rides . The Molesworth and Rainbow were at the top of my list of must-do rides and I wanted to tackle the 42nd Traverse too . The simple fact is a bike like the Rally opens up areas you might not consider before . At least , that ’ s my experience . Gravel roads no longer were something to fear , and further afield beckoned .
