A valuable keepsake in

by Roger Moroney
he last time I was
over at the Australian
MotoGP, which was
three years ago, I
decided to do what
I had done the
previous time I was
there which was two
years before that.
I decided to buy a T-shirt.
There was a wide range in terms
of choice, I think it would be fair to
say. There was an equally diverse
range in the costs involved, and
being wary of spending I steered
the usual course to the more
budget-friendly items. Going for
the official team produced ones
meant in some cases going into
overdraft. So I found a real nice
greyish-coloured one with the
MotoGP logo on the front and
a fine colourful array of all the
flags, accompanied by the race
dates, of all the other MotoGP
events which were being staged
that season around the world.
It looked fine.
A suitable keepsake... so into
the plastic bag it went and over
the counter went my $25 (crikey
that was five beers but hey, one
must take home the keepsake).
And a keepsake it indeed is. Not
a wearsake... for when I took
it out of the bag arriving back
home I discovered that what
I had taken to be a ‘medium’
was more inclined toward
being a ‘small’ and therefore
it looked ridiculous on me.

We’re pretty sure Moroney’s initial Rossi
T-shirt purchase will open the floodgates...
