SUZUKI SERIES & GIXXER CUP Over the years, the Suzuki Series has brought a heap of exciting racing to our New Zealand summers, and this year is no exception. The series kicks off at The Bruce McLaren MotorSport park at Taupo on December 10, with Round 2 at Manfeild on December 17, and the third and final round in Whanganui as part of the traditional Boxing Day racing at the Cemetery Circuit. There’s a host of top international sidecar and solo racers coming this year – click here: https://cemeterycircuit.co.nz/rider-profile/ to read the profiles of the international riders taking on the best of our Kiwis. Get your early-bird tickets online at www. cemeterycircuit.co.nz or ticketek.co.nz and go in the draw to win a Suzuki GSX150F worth $2995. This is the same bike that is run in the Gixxer Cup, which is offering very affordable racing for young Kiwi riders this summer. The Gixxer Cup is being run at each round of the Suzuki Series and at all four of the National Road Race Championship rounds, with six races counting for points. The class is aimed at novice racers aged from 12- to 21-years-old and it’s looking like there will be 25 bikes on the start line. Every rider is on the same bike and very few mods are allowed, so the riding should be very close and competitive. Expect to see clouds of testosterone hanging around the start line at each round! Kiwi Rider has a bike in the series, which will be ridden by one of our junior dirt testers – Zak Fuller of Taupiri. Zak had his first ever ride on a road bike – and his first on tar seal – at the NZ Mini Bike Champs at Manfeild on October 18. It was a wet track, which made for a very interesting start to his road racing career, as well as a steep learning curve. Over the course of three sessions Zak got quicker lap by lap, and is looking forward to racing his new bike this coming season. If you get down to the racing, give Zak a slap on the bike and wish him luck! 18 KIWI RIDER
