really good option for a midway bike to get everywhere with a bit of power . I had a big shift from there as my riding progressed to more challenging remote , technical grade four and five tracks . As good and reliable as the DZR400 is , it ’ s about 35kg heavier than most of the enduro bikes . I switched to a KTM500 which I ’ ve had for the last five years .”
What do you like about the more remote adventure riding ? “ The technical stuff . It ’ s immensely satisfying to
challenge yourself going through a grade three , four , or five then setting up camp and kicking back round the campfire after a job well done . “ You can get off the beaten track in some of the most glorious places that New Zealand has , often having a slice of paradise to yourself . As small as New Zealand is , we still have a fantastic network of tracks where anyone can go out and have the experience of leaving the hustle and bustle and busy world behind . “ One of my biggest passions that drew me to
